Hey there! So that picture above pretty much tells you everything you need to know about me. I am the proud wife to my pastor husband, Andy Savage and we have a handful (and by handful, I mean 5) children who happen to be ALL boys! When I was in high school I had a red folder that stayed with me the majority of my high school career and written on the back of this folder for posterity were the first and middle names of my FOUR children which included 2 girls and 2 boys. Nevermind that I was not married, nor was I dating my future husband. And for the record, because I know you are wondering, no, none of my children have any of the names that I picked out in high school.
Stage of life, stage of life, stage of life – if you read any of my blog or ever hear me talk to a group of young moms, you will soon know this is the motto of my life right now. It seems that I have been in the baby and preschool stage of life forever . . . and, well, I kind of have. However, as my oldest nears middle school, I am sometimes painfully reminded of how fleeting this stage of life really is. I do my best to love each stage that my boys are in and try to hold on and not freak out when they so things like rake the leaves in the yard into a line, set them on fire, and then zipline over them – oh the joys of boys!!
I had the privilege of growing up surrounded by people who followed Jesus which left an indelible impression on my young life. As a child, I would take my Bible and hide in my closet pretending to teach Bible studies. I wanted to be just like some of the women mentors in my life who were passionate about Scripture and about teaching it to others. I have a passion to see women and moms find their spiritual gifting and apply it to all areas of their lives – marriage, parenting, career, and ministry. I don’t think there is anything more beautiful than a woman who has truly found and is exercising her God-calling. These women exude joy and it shows in every area of her life including her marriage, her family, her relationship, her work, and her ministry.
My prayer as you journey with me is that you will be encouraged in your relationship with the Lord and that will overflow into every area of your life. I do not have it all together nor do I have all the answers but I trust in Philippians 1:6, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
